A Walk on the Pier, Seal Beach, CA
Last week, I was HIGHLY entertained by one of my favorite twitter mommas, @creepymommy, who often joins me in a celebratory evening cocktail. And by “celebratory” I mean M-F, sometimes Saturday, and often Sunday. Oh, and let me clarify “evening”: anything after 9 am is fair game.
Since morning drinking is such a fan favorite (of mine, at least) I submit to you a recipe provided by another blogging goddess.

- 3 count vodka
- 3 count Malibu rum
- 2 count triple sec
- 4 count pineapple juice
- 4 count cranberry juice
Pour over ice and enjoy!
Thanks Amanda!!!
Island Pearl

- 2 oz Pearl La Coco vodka (or any coconut flavored vodka)
- splash of orange juice
- pineapple juice
Fill rocks glass with ice. Pour coconut vodka over ice. Add splash of orange juice. Fill remainder of glass with pineapple juice. Stir and enjoy!
Optional garnish: slice of pineapple, slice of lemon, or sliver of fresh coconut.
Ghetto version:
- vodka (any vodka will do)
- juice (any juice will do. if you have no juice, that’s ok too)
Fill rocks glass with ice. Top off with vodka. Add splash of juice if you have it. If you need to pry a sippie away from your kid, that’s ok. Just give the JUICE cup back to the tot, NOT the rocks glass. If you DO give the rocks glass to the kid, I’ll deny ever having known you. Seriously.
Garnish (mandatory): little paper umbrella. Gotta keep it klassy.
Enjoy!
Cappuccino martini (cuz I love you)

- 1 oz vodka
- 1 oz Kahlua
- 1/2 oz Baileys
- 2 oz espresso
Brew espresso as usual. Pour over ice in shaker. Add remaining ingredients. Shake well. Pour in martini glass and enjoy!
* finished product should be foamy like a real cappuccino.
* garnish with a few coffee beans or chocolate covered coffee beans
Ghetto version:
- a lot of vodka
- a lot of Kahlua
- splash of Baileys, milk, cream, formula…whatever
- strong coffee – fresh brewed, from this morning, yesterday, or even instant.
Put a whole bunch of ice in a big ass cup. Pour whatever liquids you could scrounge up over ice. Mix with spoon in an up and down motion to create foamy bubbles.
* garnish with 2 valium and a xanax.
Enjoy!
Blogher@Home signature martini

- 1.5 oz Hpnotiq (for the blue color)
- 1.5 oz pineapple juice
- 1 oz pomegranate juice
Mix ingredients well in a cocktail shaker with ice. Pour into a chilled martini glass.
Garnish of orange rind, apple, or pineapple as preferred.
(ghetto-fied version)
- 1.5 oz vodka
- 1.5 oz blue kool-aid
- 1 oz pomegranate juice
Mix together using whatever is available: finger, spoon, baby’s pacifier. Pour in clean glass (clean part optional). Add ice if you have any made. Enjoy!

Yo ho ho’s and a bottle of rum
I was asked to guest post here, and thought I would write something deep and meaningful…possibly along the lines of “what blogging means to me.” Then have my fellow bloggers continue the discussion.
Then, I figured fuck it, and decided to stick with something I KNOW: drinks.
So, my lovelies, here are my favorite Sangria recipes- one white, one red – to accommodate all palates.
If Nic and Jen dig it, I’ll continue to post my fave drink recipes regularly. By the time BlogHer@Home rolls around, we should be ready to roll…double fistin’ yummy cocktails like there’s no tomorrow.
Cuz yeah, we keep it klassy over here.

Original recipe: (for Spanish Sangria)
1 bottle red wine (dry-ish)
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 cup orange juice
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 cup club soda
Thin slices of orange/lemon optional
Mix the wine, sugar, and juices together and let sit in refrigerator.
Overnight is best if you add slices of fruit, but an hour or 2 is fine.
Add club soda and a bunch of ice cubes RIGHT before serving.
For extra flavor, cut up chunks of peach and throw into the mix!
White wine version: (sweeter)
1 bottle white wine (dryness to taste)
1/4 cup triple sec
1/4 cup sugar (to taste, really)
2 cups ginger ale
Thinly sliced orange & chunks of peach optional
Mix the wine, sugar, and juices together and let sit in refrigerator.
Overnight is best if you add slices of fruit, but an hour or 2 is fine.
Add ginger ale and a bunch of ice cubes RIGHT before serving.
Enjoy!
