Where’s My Maid?
I hate cleaning.
No really. I HATE it. Like abhor with a passion. It’s the worst part of my life.
I was meant to have a maid.
But I don’t have one.
You see the problem there?
So, since I have to clean my own home, I’m all about making it quick and easy to clean. Shortcuts are OK in my book. Anything that’s going to let me get back to my regularly scheduled life is fair game.
A few years ago I got dragged (not willingly) to one of those home parties… for cleaning products.
I couldn’t have been more out of my element. I sat there like a dear caught in the headlights. Can you say AWKWARD.
Little did I know that chance encounter would start my love affair with a cleaning product line called Norwex.
Oh, I still hate cleaning. But at least I get it done quickly now.
I use Norwex for everything. Mops, dusting, wash cloths. They’re easy. They’re quick. And? They actually do a good job.
My very favorite product, though, is their window cloth. I can clean smudgy toddler finger prints and dog grime off my sliding glass door with one swipe and just water. And no streaks. Love love love.
The biggest test was when I let my mom borrow a few of my cleaning cloths to try out.
You see, my mom is one of those OCD cleaning junkies. You can, quite literally, eat off her floors. She was the type to get down on her hands and knees and scrub her kitchen floor because a mop didn’t do a good enough job. *FREAK*
Well I know the products are amazing because my mom has done away with manual floor washing and says her Norwex gets them just as clean in a quarter of the time (again – just using water. No chemical cleaning products needed). Oh yeah. She went out and bought her own set of cleaning cloths and everything, she was so sold on it.
As much as I like how the line cleans, I really like that all you need to do is wet down a cloth with water to clean. Having a child with special needs (as well as multiple furry creatures that live with us) has made me more aware of what chemicals I’m using in the home. And this is definitely a case where less is more.
I also have super sensitive skin. Cleaning with chemicals (even if I wear gloves) leaves my hands sore and chapped. Just one more reason I hate to clean but love my Norwex stuff.
I know, you’re dying to know where you can get your own now.
Well you didn’t think I would tell you about this stuff and then leave you high and dry did you? Never!
My good friend Jackie has put together a great Norwex package for one lucky reader!
- An antibacterial dusting mitt in blue
- A pink antibacterial microfiber Enviro cloth
- A scrubbing dish cloth
- And, my favorite, the antibacterial window cloth
That’s over $50 worth of cleaning products that you could win. And, believe me, they are worth every penny!

I HATE cleaning the bathtubs. I’d rather clean a toilet any day of the week. And I like Norwex. Hate bathtubs. Can I just say that once more?

Least favorite chore? Cleaning toilets. Just kneeling near it causes some kind of reflex gag action.

I hate cleaning toilets. The main reason is that guys are disgusting pigs, and I work with a bunch of them. Love them to death, but I would put money on it that a dog has better aim then some of the guys I work with. Dear Boyfriend isn’t much better…

I love the dry mop on Jackie’s site. I feel like I’m personally paying one Swiffer executive’s salary right now.

Most hated cleaning chore? That’s easy, cleaning the baseboards. That’s why mine are gray right now.

It’s a tie between the bathtub and the toilets. Although I am much more likely to clean the toilets because…EWWW!

I would love to try the carpet stain buster. With two cats and a baby and an apartment that is almost entirely carpeted, I need something to get that stuff up. Especially since I would eventually really like my deposit back.

@Masmom,
LMAO. Dude, you would be in HEAVEN with this stuff. My mom swears by it now and there’s not many cleaning products that meet her impossible standards.
PS..when are you coming over to clean my house?
Twitter: mommyiscranky

I’m not fond of cleaning the toilet even when it is my private bath but I HATE cleaning toilets that other people have used. GAG

It used to be vacuuming, until I moved to a place with no dishwasher. Now its washing dishes by hand. And I am pretty sure you have once again proved we are twins seperated at birth (and by time, whatev). I hate cleaning and my mom is so OCD about it. Seriously, she has a maid and you know what? She cleans before the maid gets there because “she doesn’t want to be embarasssed” WTH?
I must win this. But even if I don’t I am buying the window thing. My sliding glass door sounds EXACTLY like yours (grubby hands and dogs). I want to wash it and have NO streaks!
Also, to all you BHAH readers…would you please visit my place for the details on how you can help (with just one click) have a dream come true? Thanks!

I hate toilets….I mean I hate dirty ones and I hate cleaning them. I don’t know which I hate more. I am a little OCD about the toilets and still all I can think of his how much I hate it. I’m weird like that. I’m waiting for little automatic toilet scrubbers to be invented. No time for me to invent it yet…so until then I just keep scrubbin.

Least favorite is toilets – and also the one that I won’t allow anyone else to do because no one lives up to my clean toilet standards. Its one of the few areas I exhibit OCD symptoms.

What do I hate the most to clean? Anything but my teeth. I hate cleaning. I don’t even own a toilet brush, gross, huh? I do clean on occasion – maybe the kitchen counters or the stove and I do sweep (damn shedding dog) but that doesn’t mean I like it.

I hate cleaning up. Period. I do it, because well… I have to. The funny thing? (at least to me…) I clean other people’s houses for extra dough (and craft supplies) to sustain my quirky way of life. My house? Well… except for my OCDness of handwashing some (most) pots and pans and non-dishwasher safe items, I leave most of the house cleaning to the kids. Isn’t that what they are for? Ahem… however, I do often go back over their work, because it just doesn’t quite make the cut. Hmm… maybe I’m a *FREAK* too! Love the idea of the products. Can’t wait to try them. Might even convert my kids into being better cleaners… (but shhh… we won’t tell the “other people” – you know… the ones who’s houses I clean – about this potentially awesome product)

After visiting Jackie’s site… I would have to say it would be hard to pick just one item. BUT… I would love to have multiples of the “Optic Cloth with Case”. I can only think of the most awesome gifts to give people (even those who don’t wear glasses… think SUNglasses!) that are inexpensive and usable. This item is sure to “not” get thrown away or overlooked!
